The granting of container shipping terminal in the Port of Progreso, located in Mexico's Yucatan peninsula, formally signing the concession contract: IDD (Container Ternimal Yucatán) on December 16, 2004, beginning its operations on 1 July 2005.

The Society Yucatan Container Terminal, is owned by Spanish group TCB .

The TCB Group has:

The current Yucatan Container Terminal has an area of 11.5 hectares, and the possible extension of up to 2.4 hectares (2.38Ha) has 470 meters (480mts) spring, spring 5 and 6 of 210 and 270 meters respectively, to 11.30 meters deep, 2 panamax cranes, a crane, four reach stackers, and a top loader.

The area of influence of this port is 10 million inhabitants, 10% of the total population of Mexico. Much of the industry in the region is based in the maquilas, factories and textiles that represent a volume of maritime traffic of 60,000 TEUs annually.

General Policy of TCY
In Yucatan Container Terminal pledge that  the services of loading, unloading, handling, storage and custody of merchandise trade and repair of containers is carried out safely, protecting the integrity of it and port maneuvers are carried out attached to legal and environmental requirements relevant under strict document control protecting personnel, facilities, vessels, cargo and environment to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers, all through the International  Code ISPS, ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and continuous improvement.

On July 1, 2009, having completed four years of operation in Progreso seaport, since its inception on July 1, 2005, TCY concludes with the acquisition of all the certificates as promised by the contract signed with the Port Authority of Progress (API, by its Spanish acronym). These certificates are:
    * ISO 9001:2000 Certificate
    * ISO 14001:2004 Certificate
    * Certificate of Environmental Quality
    * Certified ISPS Code for Container Ships
    * Approval of fiscal area

Recertification in TCY
From 2007 TCY, has the quality certificates (ISO 9001:2008) and Environment (ISO 14001: 2004) and in order to provide the highest quality standards in the service we provide, in the month of November this year will be held recertification audit of the above systems. This audit will take over the company EQA Certifications Mexico.

With this we reiterate the commitment to TCY in compliance with the requirements established by agreement between API and TCY, to ensure a world-class service.

Last October was conducted an audit of the Quality and Environmental Management Systems, to verify thereof compliance and growth in TCY. This audit was conducted by the company named EQA Certifications Mexico.

In recent days was carried out follow-up audit, Certification through of International Code for the Security of Ship and of Port Facilities (CODE ISPS), through the Cordinacion General de Puertos y Marina Mercante (General Cordination of Ports and Merchant).

This audit aims to evaluate and verify that it meets all the guidelines for protection under Code ISPS.

This audit results were excellent, and we did not find any breach, demonstrating our commitment and dedication from the Terminal de Contenedores de Yucatan. Thus maintaining the certifications we have.

Thanking our customers (user of the facilities), the OPIP Enrique de la Camara and the entire staff of TCY, for their participation and partnership in caring for the safety of the installation.
